We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary in our Bodmin office to join our busy team.

Role Overview
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work within a team are essential for the position.

The successful applicant will provide support to fee earners who are focused on providing a very high-quality service to valued clients.

The successful candidate will be IT literate, highly competent and will be able to manage a varied workload to include secretarial assistance, document production, file and diary management, office administration and assisting with routine enquiries and aspects within the office. There will also be instances where providing cover for our Receptionist is required as part of the daily routine.

A candidate who has experience working within the legal sector and in a busy office environment is preferred, although not essential.

Job Type

Full Time Monday to Friday with no weekends

Pay

£24,570.00 per year (Living Wage)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist solicitors in preparing legal documents and correspondence. This will include audio typing.

  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant information.

  • Manage and organise case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.

  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other parties as required.

  • Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar for solicitors.

  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience within a legal setting is preferred, but not essential

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
