Arrangements for Children

 

If you are contemplating divorce or separation your first concern will probably be about where your children will live and/or how they will retain contact with you. We offer tailored advice and assistance to help achieve a resolution for you and your children including advice upon;

 

 

Negotiation is important and can often lead to a long term beneficial agreement regarding the care of children. We work closely with the local mediation service and offer a variety of ways to reach an agreement that benefits both you and your children.

 

Not everybody is able to reach agreement and it may be necessary to ask the court to make decisions concerning your children. Should this be necessary we have experienced solicitors to advise, guide and represent you through the court process.

Where social services are involved and we can offer advice to parents. If a child has been hurt or injured or neglected in any way or it is thought that there is a likely risk of such harm, a referral may be made by a professional agency or an individual to social services.

The allegation will be investigated following which a meeting is usually called to look at the way forward.  The local authority can decide to work on a voluntary basis with the family, however sometimes the local authority will  decide that court proceedings are necessary.
